in black and brown speckled hues, the kings, queens, bishops and pawns as crouching native figures with dominant headgear, the knights as stylised horses' heads, the rooks of pedastal form, with stylised castellated tops, king -- 4in. (10cm) high, pawn -- 2in. (5.1cm) high
