A Japanese bone and ivory zushi
of square section with stepped, tapering and galleried sections, a seated Buddha between pillars to the mid section beneath another, smaller, behind hinged doors, carved in relief all over with ho-o, dragons, cloud scrolls and lotus, on a hardwood stand carved as rockwork with steps to the centre -- 34in. (86.4cm) high, overall, (minor losses, old wear).
