cover 1868 (21 Feb.) envelope addressed to Nagasaki, originally endorsed "pr 'Grisia' via Shanghae" which has been changed to "per 'Osaka'" and bearing 1863-71 2c. and 30c. vermilion cancelled by first type of "S1" in black with "1/4" rate mark in red crayon alongside, reverse with Shanghae despatch c.d.s. It would appear that the letter was written on board a ship but not posted until it docked at Shanghai, however, this does not account for the high postal rate. Photo
