1780-1880, POSSIBLY JAPANESE

Of rounded ovoid shape, inlaid with various hardstones with a scene of boys at play, one riding the back of a goat on the deeply cut cell-patterned ivory ground between the spreading foot and separately joined flaring mouth, the base with a stylised shou character (some restoration)
2 5/8in. (6.7cm.) high, stopper
