The recumbent deer carved in the round, its head turned back and to the left, with a small boy climbing on to its back and grasping its left antler, the underside carved with the four legs tucked under the body, the stone predominantly of yellow tone with russet brown patches and pale fibrous inclusions, with an even lustrous polish
