The elliptical patera is a motif often found on furniture by Mayhew and Ince, for example the dressing-chest attibuted to Mayhew and Ince, sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 4 July 1996, lot 389 and the centre table possibly supplied to the 3rd Duke of Grafton (d. 1811), sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 25 September 1997, lot 132.
