A related night-table pattern, with straight legs, commode doors and serpentined and fretted rail, featured in Genteel Household Furniture in the Present Taste, London, 1760, published by a Society of Upholsterers, Cabinet-Makers etc. (C. Gilbert, Genteel Household Furniture in the Present Taste, Ilkley reprint, 1978, pl. 41). Gilbert, The Life and Work of Thomas Chippendale, London, 1978, vol. II, p. 249).
