Unicorn Steamer via Liverpool", the upper and lower flaps bearing 1d. plate 1a, DB, GH, GL, HF, HG, HH, HK, HL, MK, NB, QF, QG and QH, tied by strikes of the red Maltese Cross, the address panel cancelled by red Maltese Cross and showing strikes of the red "PAID" 'tombstone' of 16 May 1840, oval "PAID SHIP LETTER/LONDON" datestamp, double-lined framed "PUT IN: AFTER/7o'CLOCK AT NIGHT", faint red "NEW YORK/SHIP" datestamp, undated blue circular "ST. ANDREWS/N.B." and rated in manuscript; some repairs and portion of paper 'fitted' back into upper flap where two adhesives are missing.
