1860, a most appealing watercolour picture of a somewhat dishevelled man in hat and overcoat, mopping his brow with a handkerchief and clearly holding a stamped letter in the other hand, initialled "G.E.H." at lower-right, measuring 160x245 mm., attractively mounted in sunken card frame which shows printed "George Elgar Hicks. 'Study for the General Post Office, 1860' "
