If somebody wants to do a `Who's Who of sports-racing car manufacturing' he would have to reserve at least two pages for Dr. Ing. Gianpaolo Dallara. After his studies in 1959 he started working for Ferrari. He designed his Tipo 151 for Maserati and went to Lamborghini where he was responsible for the cars with the V12 engine. When he designed the Miura, Dallara was just 27 years of age. He was responsible for the De Tomaso formula cars before he started working for himself in the seventies. In 1978 he built the first F-3 car that carried his name and in 1985 Dallara built nearly 50 Formula cars per year with a carbon monocoque.

The car we offer was built in 1987 and is probably the one that ran at Spa-Francorchamps and Jarama with the Italian driver Marco Apicella, where he finished fifth and seventh. It is the only surviving F3000 car as the two others were modified into F-1 cars. In very good condition it is offered without the 3.0 litre Cosworth DFV-V8 engine.
