Ekegren, Geneva, circa 1880 With highly jewelled nickel finished lever movement, repeating on two hammers, glazed dust cover, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, blued steel spade hands, four subsidiary dials indicating date, month combined with leap year indicator, day and phases of the moon combiend with constant seconds, the heavy case with finely engraved and chased floral and foliage decoration to the front, centred by a blank shield-shaped cartouche, the reverse similarly decorated and centred by an engraved and chased allegory of musical instruments, unusally formed bow, the hinge set within an engraved foot usable to keep the watch standing upright, repeating slide in the plain band, dial signed 57 mm. diam.
