A French silver soup-tureen cover and stand
Circa 1880, bearing spurious 18th century marks
In the Louis XVI style, the circular stand with laurel and moulded border resting on four paw and foliage feet, the centre with applied running foliage band, the tureen on domed base resting on four double hoof feet, the border cast and chased with running flowers and scrolls, with satyr's masks and grape festoon handles, the plain raised cover with laurel wreath band and finial formed as the infant Hercules holding a bunch of grapes, with two-handled silver liner, marked with spurious marks on stand, body, cover and liner
