Maker's mark of Giovacchino Belli, Rome, circa 1810
The boat-shaped stand, on four paw feet, the border with raised fluted panels flanked by pierced arcaded gallery with applied American Indian masks at the ends, the centre fitted with tapering plinth applied with coat-of-arms beneath crown and pierced at the top for quills, and surmounted by two-handled basket, flanked by a partly fluted vase-shaped two-handled inkpot and sander, each on coiled serpent stem and with rising serpent handles, the inkpot with partly fluted table-bell with baluster handle, the sander with pierced cover with thistle finial, marked on stand, pedestal, inkpot and sander, the bell apparently unmarked

The coat-of-arms is that of Spain, for Ferdinand VII King of Spain from 1814 till 1833.
