An Italian silver chalice
Late 18th century, probably Lombardy, maker's mark MG two pellets between, struck twice with indistinct mark
On circular stepped base, the centre chased with vertical palm foliage, the beaded vase-shaped stem flat-chased with similar foliage, the cup within detachable calyx repoussé and chased, the panels of foliage and scrolls with panels of foliage and scrolls and with waved border, marked on foot rim
