Boat-shaped white enamel box, painted and decorated in raised gilt relief, the lid with Achilles, Agamemnon and Briseis, the left-hand side with Hercules and Omphale, the right hand side with Mercury slaying the sleeping shepherd Argus, the inside of the cover finely painted with Hercules and Omphale after the original by Franois Le Moyne in the Louvre engraved by Laurent Cars, reeded gilt-metal mounts with raised thumbpiece
