Cartouche-shaped brown and yellow flecked tortoiseshell casket, the cover, with scrolling ring handle, and sides applied with a pierced and chased gold cagework of foliage, scrolls, shells, flowers, female and grotesque masks, and arabic semi-male figures, with diamond-set push-piece, the interior of the cover velvet-lined, the base containing ivory tablets and gold implements including scissors with steel blades, a fountain pen, a spoon, a penknife with steel blade, steel tweezers with incorporated nail-file, two bodkins, two ear picks and a pair of gold-mounted glass scent-bottles with chained exotic bird-shaped `Girl-in-a-Swing' porcelain stoppers
