maker's mark LFT, Geneva, circa 1780, with prestige marks including a rosette imitating the charge of Julien Alaterre and a date letter crowned K, and a chicken's head imitating the discharge mark of Julien Berthe
Oblong box, the cover, side panels and base enamelled in blue grisaille on a pink opalescent ground with lakeside scenes, the cover centred by an oval panel enamelled in translucent dove-blue on a radiating engine-turned ground and applied with trophies of love in rose-cut diamonds, the sablé borders enamelled with white beads and trailing foliage, berries and flowers
