by Joseph-Étienne Blerzy, marked, Paris, 1774/1775, with the charge marks of Julien Alaterre and Jean-Baptiste Fouache and the export mark of Jean-Baptiste Fouache, the flange engraved with inventory number 205 and later Austrian marks
Oval box, the panels on cover, sides and base enamelled in translucent salmon colour on a vertical engine-turned coin pattern within opaque white enamel borders with taille d'épargne scrolls, the four side pilasters chased as Ionic columns hung with swags, the rims chased with flowerheads and scrolls, the cover inset with an oval enamel plaque painted en grisaille with the head of Demosthenes within a gold frame with leaf and berry border and two-colour gold ribbon-tie surmount
