This piece of diamond rough is from a mine in Liaoning Province (formerly a part of Manchuria). The total annual production of diamond rough from this particular mine is approximately 60,000 carats of which seventy percent is of gem quality. Many diamonds mined in China possess a colour sheen on their exterior, generally green or pink. However, it is very rare for the mine to produce a rough diamond of this size and quality.
