A Victorian Scottish Silver Snuff Box
maker's mark of Jas. Nasmyth & Co., Edinburgh, 1840
Oblong, the hinged cover engraved with monogram 'JH' in oblong reserve, within engine-turned cross-hatching in the manner of tartan, the sides and base similarly engine-turned, the cover opening to reveal a gilt interior further engraved with presentation inscription 'Edinburgh, Leith & Newhaven RIFLE CLUB 2nd. Prize, gained by Mr. James Henderson 9th July 1850'
