Lorimer designed many versions of "Queen Anne" stools and displayed a particular affinity with the form. A similar, but plainer pair were formerly at Gibliston, one of which is on loan to the National Trust for Scotland at Kellie Castle until the end of this season. The double turned, bowed and square section stretcher of the present example is an unusual refinement.
