The composition follows the engraving by Bernard Lépicié, 1747, entitled Les Francs Maons Flamands en Loge, after Teniers's signed picture, on panel, 55 x 75 cm, in the National Gallery, London (see G. Martin, The Flemish School circa 1600 - circa 1900, 1970, p.269, no2600.
