The flowers have been kindly identified by Dr. S. Segal:

6. White Rose Rosa x alba duplex

The attribution is based on comparison with the picture sold at Christie's London, 15 April 1992, lot 137, with ill., and with the picture in the Dordrecht Museum (Nederlandse Stillevens uit de 17e eeuw, exh. cat., Dordrecht, 1962, no38, fig. 65).
