The pair painted centrally with two rearing winged beasts supporting a coat-of-arms, inscribed below with 'LABOR'; the set of three with a different coat-of-arms flanked by a rearing horse and lion, incribed 'LEX', surmounted by a closed coronet, both wells and rims decorated in relief in white enamels between pink, puce and tomato-red rose buds, all below a spearhead border in iron-red and gilt, the reverse with a Samson mark
