Contemporary calf (rebacked, old spine laid down, later label). Provenance: Heneage Finch, 4th Earl of Aylesford (1751-1812, Packington, Warwickshire, etched bookplate).

First edition in Latin, with the same plates as the original edition in Dutch (Leiden: 1775-1780). Meerburgh, the curator of the Leiden Botanical Garden, produced the plates , including a butterfly from his own collection in each plate.
