A collection of plates of parrakeets (nos. 15, 21, 23 and 36) from Lear's first published work Illustrations of the family of Psittacidae, or Parrots (London: 1830-1832). The published work contains 42 plates and was the first ornithological work in a folio format with lithographic plates. (see lot 118). The plates comprise
