A French ormolu and white marble mantel clock

Of a bacchante seated on a rock, a tambourine laden with grapes at her side, teasing a putto with a bunch of grapes, the drum-shaped case with white enamel dial painted with foliate swags, signed F. Linke/A Paris, with twin-train movement, inscribed to the back CLODION and LINKE, on a shaped marble base inset to the centre with crossed thyrsi behind a fruit and flower-laden vase, and to the sides with a griffin with scrolling foliate tail, on laurel-cast toupie feet, on painted wooden plinth
The clock: 13 in. (33 cm.) wide; 14½ in. (37 cm.) high; 5½ in. (14 cm.) deep
