Lot Essay

While working in Vienna for two years in the early 1870s Linke would have established contacts with a number of firms and it is interesting to see evidence of this here with the stencil mark of the retailers, Portois & Fix, Wien, which can be found on the reverse of this cabinet.
For a further note on this maker see lot 151.
