Lot Essay

The 4768 was the first triple calendar chronograph from Rolex and (like similar models from every Swiss maker) utilised the newly introduced calibre 72c from Valjoux; it was introduced simultaneously with its companion model the 4767 which was an Oyster version. The 4768 was produced from 1951 to 1953 when it was replaced by the model 8180.
