The gilt gut fusee movement with pre-hairspring steel balance, the pierced cock and irregular foot with floral design secured by a pin, blued steel click and spring set-up, turned baluster pillars with later silver dial-plate with engraved Roman chapter ring, chased and engraved gilt hand, in cast silver case of chrysanthemum design, with seven-piece box hinge and contemporary key, movement signed
38 mm. diam.

Lot Essay

Nicollas Forfaict, son of Augustin, first mentioned in Paris, rue Saint-Jacques, 1573. Last mention that he had premises in Cité 1619.
