A pair of Victorian ten-light parcel-gilt candelabra
maker's mark of John Samuel Hunt, London, one 1846, one 1848, twelve nozzles 1846, eight 1848, three applied arms 1849
Each on shaped triangular base cast and chased with scrolls, foliage and shells and applied with three detachable seated putti, one with a helmet, one with a sword and a third with arm raised, the base with three detachable model deer, on realistically chased rockwork base, standing by a scroll stem chased with latticework and applied with trailing vine, with detachable scroll branches in two tiers, each terminating in shaped circular drip-pan and vase-shaped socket with detachable plain circular nozzle, with detachable similar central light, each base applied with three detachable cartouches cast with two coats-of-arms accoll/ae, fully marked, each stamped on base 'HUNT & ROSKELL LATE STORR MORTIMER & HUNT', one numbered '2648', the other '3839'
