The dogs modelled with their heads slightly raised and turned sharply to the left and right, each lying in an arch with their hind legs tucked under their body and the long furry tail swished round, the back applied with a tall cylindrical candle-holder with pale green and blue petal motifs, each mounted on a large gilt-bronze base and fitted with hinged three-armed candleprickets, the porcelain cylinders possibly reduced at the mouth
