A PAIR OF IMARI BALUSTER VASES AND DOMED COVERS
Late 17th century
Decorated in iron-red and gilt on underglaze blue with four oval-shaped panels alternately painted with two cranes and a tree issuing from a jardiniere and a bouquet of bamboo and flowers, on a blue ground painted with flowerheads and branches, the shoulders with lappets, the necks with foliage within oval cartouches, the covers similarly decorated with karashishi finials, both covers with some restoration
