Late 17th Century
Decorated in underglaze blue with a continuous band of peonies and foliage with the monogram RW in a roundel, the shoulder with a band of lappets, the neck with sprays of foliage, minute crack to neck rim
7½in. (19.1cm.) high

Lot Essay

The initials are unrecorded but may be those of a Governor General of the Dutch East India Company.
A pair of similar bottles were sold in these Rooms on 20 June 1994, lot 268.
