Types and Costumes of Colombia

A native of Bogota, Torres Mendez worked primarily in the popular costumbrista tradition. His Cuadros de Costumbres Granadinas were lithographed in 1851 and he contributed caricatures and satires to Los Matachines Illustrados from 1855.
