BURMA

(Some soiling, particularly to Abbey nos. 2 and 5, most with marginal tears, nos. 3 and 4 with repaired tears affecting the image area, no.8 with large sectiuon of upper margin torn away and replaced, just affecting the image area.) Unbound.
The atlas volume was issued without text of title, but was accompanied by a separate 4to volume with title and 12pp. of text was published. Captain Kershaw, with the 13th Light Infantry, was part of the force that invaded Burma in March 1824. What came to be known as tha first Burmese War ended with the treaty of Yandaboo on 24 February 1826. (9)
