Lot Essay

Martha (1780-1846), daughter of Alderman Peter Pochard of London, a native of Guernsey, married Major-General John Le Mesurier (1781-1843) in 1804. He was the last hereditary governor of Alderney.
Williamson and Engleheart (op. cit.) record that Mrs Le Mesurier sat to Engleheart in 1808.
