A REGENCY MAHOGANY TEA CABINET-ON-STAND
The hinged rectangular top crossbanded in rosewood, with cushion moulded frieze, enclosing a fitted interior with two removable metal caddies and a removable metal well with pierced base above an infusion tray, the lock stamped 'J. BRAMAH' below a crown 'PATENT' below a crown, with panelled sides, on a stand with ring-turned reeded tapering legs, brass caps and casters

Lot Essay

This lock was made by Bramah before 1798, suggesting it was old stock, but it would appear to be original to the sarcophagus. The secondary wood of the frame is ash.
