A Wrotham slipware dated puzzle-jug by John Livermore
1642, moulded with the initials I L
Of squat baluster form with hollow loop handle and short straight spout, the hollow rim applied with four spotted animals above a pierced band, the brown body applied with cream slip flowerheads flanking two square and rectangular cartouches with raised initials and date 1642 (handle broken and repaired at the terminals, animals with heads and tails lacking, two further animals missing)
