A Ludwigsburg figure of a sower
Circa 1765-70, blue crowned interlaced C mark, painter's black z.
Modelled by Jean Jaques Louis, wearing a black hat, pale blue-edged red-lined coat, pale-blue vest and pale-yellow breeches, his right hand clutching seeds from a satchel slung over his right shoulder, standing with a sack of seeds leaning against his legs, on a shaped circular mound base applied with scattered seeds and edged with gilt moulded scrolls (restoration to brim of hat, minute chipping to puce ribbons, edge of base and tip of coat)
