A Meissen model of a seated monkey
Circa 1733, blue AR mark
Modelled by J.G. Kirchner to the right and turned to the front with a pink face and ears and a black-streaked and blue-splashed coat, holding a fruit in its right hand, seated on a rockwork mound base modelled with waterweeds and moss and enriched in turquoise, yellow, green, brown and puce (minute chip to tip of restuck right tuft of hair on its forehead, minor chipping to edge of base, firing crack through front of base)
