A Meissen figure of Tartaglia from the Duke of Weissenfels series
Circa 1744, blue crossed swords mark at back
Modelled by J.J. Kändler and P. Reinicke in a gilt-edged blue hat, puce cape, white ruff, yellow jacket and shoes and turquoise trousers, standing before a tree-stump on a shaped circular mound base applied with a flower and foliage (left forearm, right hand and thumb restuck, right little finger and left thumb restored replacements, restoration to hat, flaking to front of trousers re-touched, chipping to foliage)
