A Meissen chinoiserie beaker and saucer
Circa 1725, blue enamel crossed swords mark and Dreher's .. to beaker, underglaze blue crossed swords mark and Dreher's to saucer
Painted in the manner of J.G. Höroldt, the beaker with an Oriental in a long-sleeved black robe and elaborate hat holding a bell-toy, the reverse with a seated figure and companion in a garden, the saucer with a figure standing and holding an exotic staff and an attendant with a triangular bell-toy at his side within gilt and lobed lustre panelled shaped quatrefoil cartouches with scrolling puce and iron-red foliage, gilt interlocking scrollwork and flowerhead borders (rim of beaker with slight shallow chip and rubbing to gilding, chip to underside of rim and minor rubbing to cartouche of saucer)
