Circa 1735, puce enamel crossed swords mark, painter's A. mark, wheel-engraved Dresden Japanese Palace mark N=204, w
Decorated in underglaze-blue, overglaze enamels and gilding with an Oriental flanked by flowering peony and chrysanthemum branches issuing from rockwork, the interior similarly decorated with peony and grasses beneath a diaper border divided by four peony flowerheads below two blue concentric lines (edge of footrim slightly reduced)
5¾ in. (14.6 cm.) diam.
