The tapering watered steel single-edged Ottoman replacement blade with a silver damascened silver inscription panel dated AH 1261 (1845-6 AD), a silver mount linking the blade and hilt with simple floral engraving, the slightly widening oval section hilt with flat spine, the blue ground with flowering sprays around white cusped ogival cartouches containing similar motifs, the upper terminal similar around a silver bead, originally an inset stone, the sheath with ball knop enamelled similarly to the hilt, the collar an Ottoman silver engraved replacement, the reverse with suspension loop attached to the signature cartouche
