The watered steel tapering double-edged blade reinforced at the tip, carved with a central tapering recess containing a raised cypress tree within similar ridged surround rising from a gold covered cusped floral panel, the hilt of typical form, the two arms linked by a cross-piece, the surface extensively engraved and chased with a variety of floral sprays on ring-matted ground and subsequently gilded, the associated red and yellow velvet-covered wooden sheath with later silver repoussé floral terminal, minimal corrosion
