A SELJUK TURQUOISE GLAZED MOULDED POTTERY BOWL
PROBABLY EAST PERSIA, LATE 12TH CENTURY
Of deep rounded form on short foot, the exterior crisply moulded with a band of arched panels supported on palmette columns, each panel containing the figure of a seated turbanned man in lively pose, a band above of confronted pecking birds, a band below of plaited rope and a band of inverted bold palmettes above the foot, one side restored, areas of silvery iridescence
