Two pairs in the form of birdcages, the larger of hexagonal form made of gold filigree with small openwork beads hanging from each corner, attachment loops with granulation, plain suspension loops, the smaller pair similar but of pyramidal shape, the third pair of paler gold comprising beads with applied granulation between plain beads one each side formerly with inset stones, small losses

Earrings of similar form to those forming the first two pairs in this lot, but executed in sheet gold and with multiple bird pendants, were excavated in Aleppo and are now in the Museum in Damascus (Syrie, Mémoire et Civilisation, exhibition catalogue, Paris, 1993, no.364, pp.462-3).
