The shanks heavily constructed of solid twisted wire in triangular section with a minor band of twisted gold wire wound around, the shoulders composed of gold granulation flanking the octagonal box clasp having a central engraved bird surrounded by niello kufic inscription al-'abid (For the adorer of God), the clasp held by a pin, slight distortion, minor losses

Lot Essay

Unusually the two birds engraved on the bezels of these bracelets are completely different. One appears to be a pelican (illustrated here), while the other is a falcon with its head turned over its shoulder.
