A GEORGE III MAHOGANY WING ARMCHAIR
The outcurved wings, outcurved back and seat covered in blue material, on square legs with the front reed and joined by a chamfered H-shaped stretcher, repair to back feet, one castor replaced
Provenance
Probably supplied to the 5th Duke of Bolton (d.1765) for Hackwood.
By descent until sold in 1935 with Hackwood to William Berry, 1st Viscount Camrose (d.1954).
Thence by descent.

Lot Essay

Although it is not identifiable in the 18th Century inventories, it seems probable that this chair is original to Hackwood, given its date of around 1760 and its dry surface.
